  1. 1° giorno Sunday: Arrival Venice Mestre

Arrival and accommodation in the reserved rooms. Free time.  Overnight stay.

  2. 2° giorno Monday: Venice / Lido di Venezia / Pellestrina / Chioggia

Breakfast at the hotel. Following the new cycle path you will arrive in Venice by crossing the Ponte della Libertà bridge. Reaching the Tronchetto pier, embarkation for Lido di Venezia, also called Isola d’Oro (Golden Island) by the Venetians and its inhabitants. After the birth of the first bathing establishment, the island became the holiday resort of nobles and rulers from all over Europe, actors and actresses, great tycoons of industry and world finance, fuelling a myth that still gives it a unique atmosphere. A fascinating past that has bequeathed to the island a vocation for tourism with a reserved and elegant character, manifested through beautiful villas and Art Nouveau villas. The Lido also has other surprises in store, such as the ancient monastery of San Nicolò, the historical and monumental heart of the island, and the village of Malomocco, a little Venice with calli, campielli, and houses leaning against each other. There is no shortage of awe-inspiring landscapes including the WWF protected oasis of the Alberoni dunes – with its wealth of animal and plant species – and of course the Lagoon with its evocative scenery. We then continue to Pellestrina by ferry.Pellestrina is an island in the Venetian Lagoon and represents the southernmost of the three narrow shorelines that divide the Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea.Thirteen kilometres long, with calli and campielli, rivalry of neighbourhoods and a passion for regattas, the island of Pellestrina is a miniature version of the real and popular Venice. It is a small world where people still live the old-fashioned way, amidst slow rhythms and the eternal ritual of ’ciacole’. When you land, the glimpse is extraordinary. Two rows of houses and sandals form a hinge between land and water, dotted with fishing huts. With the multicoloured façades of the houses, no more than two or three storeys high and all facing the lagoon, the Lego effect is guaranteed and makes Pellestrina look like a playground-island. Here, everything recalls the most popular Venice. From the sestieri to the eternal ritual of the spritz, the local aperitif, white wine sprinkled with Campari or Aperol. From the labyrinth of calli, sotoporteghi and campielli to the ciacolar of the fishermen who join forces at Bar Perla. To the passion for historical regattas and the myth of the great champions and masters of rowing. In addition to being an island of fishermen, Pellestrina is famous for its lace-making, which has been documented since the mid-15th century. Women still embroider their lace today and it is tempting to sit next to one of the last lace-makers and be told the tradition of this centuries-old art, typical of the lagoon mirror. Handed down from mother to daughter, this ancient art continues to create, through the hands of expert lacemakers, works of extraordinary and refined beauty. On arrival at the southern end of the island board the ferry for Chioggia. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Chioggia or Sottomarina. Overnight.
